Prof. Liang Shen mainly engaged in the research work of high sensitivity and fast response organic/perovskite photodetector, of which the ultra-fast response speed reaches the best index of similar detectors in this field. He has published 165 SCI retrieval papers, and 7 papers have been selected into ESI database with high citation, with more than 4500 SCI citations and an H-index of 36. Among them, he has published 63 papers as the first or corresponding author in Adv. Mater. and other important international academic journals, in which 15 papers with IF>10.0. The paper on perovskite photodetector published on Light-Sci. Appl. was selected into ESI paper with high citation frequency, and was the first cited paper in this journal in 2020. In addition, he has presided over 20 projects of National Natural Science Foundation of China, Military Industry Projects, Key Research and Development Projects of Jilin Province, etc., and 4 Chinese invention patents have been granted as the first inventor. He has been employed as Leading Professor B Post of “Tang Aoqing Scholar” of Jilin University since January 2020. The research results won the first prize of Jilin Provincial Science and Technology Award for Natural Science. The ultra-fast responsive photodetector developed for military application in combat environment has been supported by the “Young Talents” fund project jointly supported by the Ministry of Equipment Development and the Ministry of Education.

Research Areas

  1. Organic/Inorganic hybrid perovskite photodetectors: To solve the problem of slow response speed of diode photodetectors, a self-driven organic/inorganic hybrid perovskite photodetector was developed, and the response speed of nanosecond was first realized. Meanwhile, a high-sensitivity narrow-band photodetector without filter is developed to break the restriction that the absorption spectrum range of the material determines the response band. Moreover, the high-quality imaging of photodetector is realized.

  2. X-ray detectors: To solve the problem of low sensitivity of direct high energy radiation detector, a high-performance perovskite single crystal detector was developed. Large size and high quality perovskite single crystal makes the detector have better sensitivity than commercial detector and lower dose rate than human medical diagnosis.

Research Interests

High performance solution-processed semiconductor photodetectors, X-ray detectors and their applications.
